Hello Summer

The heat has set in for the summer season.  Highs are now hitting mid to upper 90's regularly, with humidity levels somewhere between light
sweat showers and torrents of perspiration. My spring crops are wrapping things up.  I pulled the last of the radishes, and we're now getting down to the nitty gritty on peas.  About half the garden will be fully harvested and replanted in the next 2 weeks...the heat wave showed up just in time to make things really miserable out there.
This was my huge Saturday harvest...from top left clockwise we have the dregs of the shelling peas, a massive harvest of fava beans, snow peas, storage onions, a too-large radish, and a monstrous garlic. These are all crops that will soon be plucked and replaced in the garden.
Here's four varieties of lettuce and some basil for a Father's Day salad.
This naughty radish just proves that Mother Nature is as dirty as the rest of us.  Every gardener gets a bit of vegetable porn from time to time, but this specimen might just be our all-time winner.
