Asparagus Rising

My asparagus patch is sending up spears!  I've harvested only 5 spears so far, but more are coming up every day.  Since this is Year 3 for my
patch, I can harvest extensively for 6 weeks.

This was the first spear of the year.  It was thick, the diameter of my little finger.  I broke it in half and my wife and I ate it raw.  It was crisp and sweet.  I'm pretty excited about the asparagus.  Being able to harvest something regularly again is so nice.
