Tiny Hot Peppers

This is a Black Pearl Pepper.  They are hot peppers, but very small (note the nail head in the upper left corner for a little scale).  This tiny dried pepper was full of seeds.  If you shook it close to your ear, it sounded like a tiny maraca. The seeds successfully germinated...
Here's the very cool thing...the leaves are dark purple, almost black.  I have 8 of these plants, and they are going to look awesome wherever I put them.  The immature peppers are supposed to be purple/black and then ripen to red.  They are a great addition to the garden and I can't wait to see how spicy they are when they mature.

  1. I planted mine already! So excited, Judd too. I don't know if you tried with his dried peppers or not... but after we left your house Monday night he asked me to. Currently in the window, if they work do you want some?!
